Product Description
11CrMo9-10 EN1092-1 Type 13 Loose Flange 1.7383 PN16 Forged Flanges
11CrMo9-10 is a low-alloy creep-resistant steel commonly used for high-temperature applications such as boiler tubes, headers, and piping in power plants. It's standardized in EN 10216-2 (seamless steel tubes for pressure purposes) and similar European norms.
Chemical Composition
Element Content (Weight %)
Carbon (C) 0.08 – 0.12
Silicon (Si) ≤ 0.50
Manganese (Mn) 0.30 – 0.70
Phosphorus (P) ≤ 0.025
Sulfur (S) ≤ 0.010
Chromium (Cr) 2.00 – 2.50
Molybdenum (Mo) 0.90 – 1.10
Nitrogen (N) ≤ 0.030
Nickel (Ni) ≤ 0.30 (residual/limited)
Copper (Cu) ≤ 0.30 (residual/limited)
Balance Iron (Fe)
Key Composition Benefits
  • Chromium (~2–2.5%): Improves oxidation and corrosion resistance at elevated temperature. Helps maintain strength and structural stability under long-term heat exposure.
  • Molybdenum (~1%): Significantly boosts high-temperature strength and creep resistance. Improves hardenability, helping the steel retain properties after heat treatment.
  • Low Carbon (~0.1%): Balances weldability and strength. Minimizes risk of brittle microstructures and excessive hardness in the heat-affected zone.
  • Tight Limits on P and S: Reduce hot-shortness and brittleness. Important for components under pressure and thermal cycling.
Because of this alloy balance, 11CrMo9-10 is chosen in power and process industries where components must operate safely for thousands of hours at temperatures often in the 500–600 °C range, with good weldability and long-term creep performance.
Important Note: If you're working on design, welding procedure qualification, or material substitution, always confirm the exact limits from the specific product standard (e.g., EN 10216-2) and the mill test certificate, since minor variations and tighter internal limits are common from different manufacturers.
