10CrMo5-5 High Pressure and Temperature Steam Pipelines
10CrMo5-5 is a low-alloy heat-resistant steel commonly used in high-temperature and high-pressure applications such as boiler tubes, steam lines, and pressure vessels. It belongs to the family of chromium-molybdenum steels and is standardized in EN 10216-2 (seamless steel tubes for pressure purposes).

Element Functions
  • C (Carbon): Controls strength and hardness; kept moderate to retain good weldability
  • Cr (Chromium): Improves oxidation and corrosion resistance, and high-temperature strength
  • Mo (Molybdenum): Increases creep resistance and strength at elevated temperatures
  • Mn, Si: Aid deoxidation and contribute to strength and toughness
  • P, S: Kept very low to avoid brittleness and weldability problems
