Product Overview

Material to UNS S31803 (and related specifications) is a duplex stainless steel featuring a microstructure of 50:50 austenite and ferrite. This steel combines excellent mechanical strength (typically over 480 MPa yield strength) with good ductility and moderate to high corrosion resistance in various environments.

By agreement, the alloy can be supplied with a PREN (Pitting Resistance Equivalent) >34, ensuring maximum pitting corrosion resistance for this grade. The steel also offers superior resistance to stress corrosion cracking and maintains good notch ductility at ambient and subzero temperatures.

These properties make this duplex steel an effective alternative to 300 series stainless steels in applications requiring higher mechanical strength, reduced weight, and/or enhanced stress corrosion cracking resistance.

Welding Capabilities
